A Safer Hop Back, That's Easier to Clean

Hop Back
Maximize Your Hops

Looking for a really efficient way to use your increasingly expensive and hard to acquire hops? Look no further than the Paul Mueller Company Hop Back. This equipment was designed to harness the essential oils and resins in hops to add the same bitterness and aromatics to your beer with fewer hops, saving you money.  The hop back allows you to use either whole cone hops or hop pellets, to give you more control in the crafting of your unique beer characteristics.

Ode to Mueller Hop Back

Mueller hop backs are all customized for the brewery's specific application and preferences. The basic principals behind the design are the same though.  They all have an internal removable screen to make cleaning easier and the giant valve at the bottom means removal of spent hops is a breeze.  No false bottom, no calendar screen, our hops are on the outside of the screen instead of the inside.
Our hop back design was so special to one popular craft brewer they gave it a name!  And then they made a pretty good beer with that odeprot hop back, if we do say so ourselves.

No agitator to pulverize the hops

There are no agitators in Mueller hop backs, instead we use a perforated screen that runs vertically and relies on the flow. This results in a motor free solution with a cleaner design and easier maintenance.  But maybe the biggest benefit of this feature is the whole cone hops stays intact.

Safety First

You want to keep yourself and your people safe and the hop back can help.  No more lugging heavy hop bags up to the top of the fermentor.  With the hop back you stay on the ground.  Plus, Mueller hop backs are always ASME stamped and rated for pressure.
